Kentucky Derby 2017: Expert Picks, how to Bet on the Race

Kentucky Derby 2017: Expert Picks, how to Bet on the Race

Many consider it the greatest single sport event to bet on. It’s known to many as the most exciting two minutes in all of sports. The Kentucky Derby will take place this weekend at Churchill Downs in Louisville Kentucky. The Derby is wide open for any of the horses to take home the first of the Triple Crown events. Let’s take a look at the expert betting picks and how to bet on this year’s race.

Always Dreaming 4/1

The combination of Todd Pletcher and John Velazquez is known as one of the best in all of horse racing. Always Dreaming is an Eclipse Award winner 7 times. There is no doubt Always Dreaming has everything it takes to down the gold at the Kentucky Derby. There is no fluke that Always Dreaming is one of the favorites at 4/1 odds to win.

Always Dreaming

Classic Empire 4/1

Mark Casse and Julien Leparoux helped Classic Empire win two Grade 1 stakes this season. In the last time Classic Empire raced at Churchill, it was a winner. Classic Empire is the son of Pioneer of the Nile. Voted as the best juvenile in the horse racing community in 2016. Classic Empire is a tough, physical horse.

Irish War Cry 13/2

Irish War Cry is one of the best horses in this race. The son of curling has looked great, and is coming off a win at the Wood Memorial. That win was a great bounce back from the performance at Fountain of Youth. If Irish Way Cry can held everything in under pressure, there is no doubt you will see this horse at the end.

Irish War Cry

McCracken 7/1

This horse is one that many are touting as the fastest in the event. Ian Wilkes and Brian Hernandez Jr. have this bay colt ready to etch a name in racing history. This horse really likes Churchill Downs and owns a great chance to finish the race in the top three positions, so it would be hard not see McCracken competing all the way until the end.

Gunnevera 12/1

Antonio Sano and Javier Castellano have a horse that loves the ten furlongs. This is a horse that has a prowess for coming in quick at the end. Gunnevera won the Fountain of Youth, and seems to be on the right track. At 8/1 odds, Gunnevera is definitely in the running to be quite the contender at the Kentucky Derby.

We cannot wait until the 6:34pm local start time at Churchill Downs. This is going to be a great race, and one of the most exciting races you will find. Irish War Cry is going to be our bet to win the 2017 Kentucky Derby. Best of luck with all your Kentucky Derby betting, and we hope you take down some big time money!
